CoolPeel®
CoolPeel® with the CO2 laser in our practice at Vienna Central Station is an innovative and efficient facial treatment to address pigmentation and skin texture issues. A treatment is suitable for reducing wrinkles and skin imperfections, has a firming effect and evens out the skin tone. Age spots and acne scars can also be treated. The CO2 laser perforates the superficial layers of skin, revealing rejuvenated and refreshed skin after a downtime of 1-3 days. What is particularly worth emphasizing is the short downtime compared to other methods.

What technology is used for CoolPeel®?
CoolPeel® is a very modern and safe method to rejuvenate your skin. A CO2 laser is used to target the superficial layers of the skin. Your damaged skin is removed and the new skin that appears looks healthier. Other methods sometimes involve longer downtimes, while with CoolPeel® this is limited to 1-3 days.
What is the difference between CoolPeel® and ColdPeel®?
The treatment has become known by both names. But behind both names there is always the same method with the same technology.
Can the effects be further intensified without extending the downtime?
Yes, we don't have a normal CO2 laser, but a CO2 laser with a second wavelength, DuoGlide from DEKA Lasers. The second wavelength is 1,540nm and, unlike normal CO2 lasers, only causes heat in the deeper layers. This means that collagen can be stimulated even more actively in depth without extending the downtime.
CO2 lasers have been part of dermatology and aesthetic treatments for many years. The procedure is a gold standard, especially for skin rejuvenation, tightening and scar treatment. A problem with traditional laser treatment is the long downtime of up to a week. Thanks to further development, you can now achieve good effects with the CoolPeel® with downtimes of only 1-3 days. The downtime, but also the effect, depends on the energy selected and thus the intensity. As a rule, there is only redness for a few days without crusts or open areas. So the perfect treatment over the weekend.
What is the difference between a carbon laser peeling and a CoolPeel®?
Both treatments are offered in our practice at the main train station in Vienna. Different technologies are used for the two treatment concepts. Carbon laser peeling is carried out with the PicoStar laser, CoolPeel® with the CO2 laser. The carbon laser peeling primarily targets skin imperfections and refines the skin's appearance. CoolPeel® targets wrinkles more effectively, has a firming effect and evens out the skin tone. Substances tailored to your skin are also introduced into the skin perforated by the laser, which enhance the treatment effect. The more intensive treatment is CoolPeel®. Carbon laser peeling can also be used on darker skin types, while CoolPeel® is more suitable for lighter skin types.
Carbon Laser Peeling is offered for EUR 250, while CoolPeel® costs EUR 500 per session. You can book a carbon laser peeling directly without a preliminary medical consultation, while CoolPeel® requires a medical consultation in advance.
You make an appointment with one of our dermatologists in our practice at Vienna Central Station. At this initial appointment, you will discuss your wishes and your doctor will check whether CoolPeel® is the optimal treatment for you and provide information. Photos will also be taken during this appointment. The treatment will be carried out in a second separate appointment.
Your treating doctor will choose the laser settings that are right for you and carry out the laser treatment. This takes around 30 minutes. Substances specifically selected for your skin type are then applied to the skin and then a soothing mask is applied. This way, optimal results can be achieved. The appointment will take around 45-60 minutes in total.
It is a laser treatment that perforates your skin and creates heat - both effects are necessary to achieve the desired effect. During the treatment, your face is cooled significantly, which greatly reduces the feeling of warmth. So the treatment is easy to endure, but it is certainly not a feel-good treatment.
The subsequently applied substances (antioxidants and vitamins) can cause a burning sensation. The mask that follows will soothe your skin. After the treatment, your skin will feel like it has been severely sunburned and will be sensitive for 1-3 days.
When is the best time to carry out the treatment?
The treatment is only recommended to be carried out in the season with little sunshine. Ideally, you should not plan a trip to sunny areas or a skiing holiday in the 3-4 weeks immediately after treatment. You should not have any important appointments for 1-3 days after the treatment as your skin will be red immediately after treatment.
How many treatments are necessary for visible results?
You will see results after the first treatment. Whether and how often the treatment should be repeated depends on your skin and your wishes. However, we can give you an assessment during the initial appointment.
The medical consultation costs EUR 150 as part of the initial consultation. We carry out the treatment itself for EUR 500 per session.
What do I have to pay attention to after the treatment?
We recommend that you apply a skin-soothing cream in the days following the treatment. You must also be careful not to expose yourself to the sun and to apply sunscreen with a high sun protection factor even if you are not exposed to the sun. If you are prone to herpes, herpes prophylaxis is recommended. We will explain this to you in detail during the initial consultation.
We know from current research that serums with antioxidants accelerate healing and also contribute to a more beautiful complexion - we would be happy to advise you.
The details will be explained to you in the consultation and we will also recommend the relevant care and sun protection products.
