Dear Patients,

Hidradenitis Suppurativa is a condition we have a special place in our hearts at our clinic at Vienna Central Station. Especially in summer, the symptoms of this chronic disease can be particularly distressing.

Once diagnosed, we can initiate various treatment regimens. Part of the therapy may include the lAight therapy. This involves a special light spectrum combined with radiofrequency, which stimulates tissue regeneration and regulates sebum production.

Changes in the Cosmetics & Foot Care Team
Our colleagues Ms. Jannet Perkola and Ms. Jacqueline Franz are going on maternity leave. We are very happy for our colleagues and congratulate them. At the same time, we are pleased to announce that we have found a new colleague for our team. Ms. Julie Oviemu will join our team next week as a podiatrist. She completed her training in 2021 and has since gained extensive experience. Additionally, she has specialized training in diabetic foot care and foot reflexology.

PrEP Consultation & STD Article
In May, the first issue of the men’s health magazine CHECK was published in Austria. For this magazine, Dr. Florian Bodner wrote an article on the topic "How to Stay Sexually Healthy in the Long Term." You can also find information on sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) on our website.

Offer of the month
For the months of March and April 2023 we offer you fruit acid and chemical peelings at special conditions. Carbon laser peeling
We have had a PicoStar laser in our practice since the beginning of the year, which is currently the most modern of its kind on the market. With this device we can offer you amongst other treatments carbon laser peeling. With this laser treatment, the skin is cleansed and pigment spots, redness, inflammation, blackheads, enlarged pores and wrinkles can be reduced. In addition, oily skin is regulated.
 

Opening hours
Our opening hours have changed. We are there for you on Monday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This means a total of four more hours per week. We are increasingly there for you also at off-peak hours of the day. 

Nail fungus
At 'Medizin am Hauptbahnhof' we offer a special selection of treatment options for nail fungus.

In our practice, we have a PCR-based diagnostic method at our disposal to make a pathogen-specific diagnosis. Based on this, we then initiate the various medicinal and therapeutic options.

In addition, our experienced foot care team can offer you the necessary treatment of the diseased nail material. We also have a special laser available in our practice, which provides quick and gentle relief for nail fungus.

We are pleased to inform you that we have a new laser in our office. The so-called PicoStar Laser is the most modern of its kind currently on the market. What is special about the device are the ultra-short impulses, which lead to better treatment results thanks to greater precision and efficiency. The laser is used for the elimination of dyes:

• Tattoos
• Permanent makeup
• Age and pigment spots

When the laser radiation is emitted in picosecond pulses, the laser light is calculated by the color pigments and heated to over 900 °C. The dye can be the full color range of tattoos, permanent makeup on lips or eyebrows, as well as the color pigment contained in an age and pigment spot. The heating by the laser leads to an extremely accelerated expansion of the pigment, which creates a mechanical (acoustic) wave. The generated wave exerts a pressure that causes fragmentation of the pigment. The fragments are then taken up by macrophages (scavenger cells) and transported away by the lymphatic system.
