Dr. Stephanie Kapsch
Dermatologist
With a great passion for medicine and a strong interest in intercultural exchange, it was important to me during my studies to gain valuable experiences not only domestically but also abroad, in places such as St. Gallen, Zurich, Hamburg, Israel, Sydney, and Vietnam. These unique internships not only provided me with deep insights into various medical systems and treatment approaches but also intensified my fascination for dermatology and the diversity of dermatological needs.
My specialized training in dermatology began at Dermatologikum in Hamburg, followed by several months in vascular surgery at Klinik Ottakring, Hietzing, and Floridsdorf. This allowed me to deepen my preference for surgical interventions, especially fine, technically challenging operations that fascinate me. In the final years of my training, I spent time at the University Clinic for Dermatology at the Medical University of Vienna (AKH), where I made dermatosurgery my professional focus as part of the surgical team. Skin cancer prevention and dermatological oncology are also close to my heart. Through rotations in various specialized clinics at AKH, such as the Immune-biology Outpatient Clinic, I further deepened my knowledge and passion for chronic inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, acne, and rosacea.
Working at a university clinic provided valuable insights into scientific work, as well as the latest research methods and findings. These experiences have given me a solid foundation for my future work as a dermatologist, enabling me to stay abreast of the latest developments in medicine.
For some time now, I have been dedicating myself to expanding my knowledge in the field of laser medicine through an advanced training program called "Differenzierte Ästhetische Laser- und Plasma-Medizin (DALM)" or "Differentiated Aesthetic Laser and Plasma Medicine" at the University Medicine Greifswald.
My decision to pursue a specialization in dermatology is based on my firm belief that the skin is not only an aesthetic organ but also a reflection of an individual's overall health. I am convinced that a holistic approach to diseases is crucial for their successful management.
My goal is to support patients facing dermatological challenges in a compassionate and professional manner by combining innovative treatment approaches with a deep understanding of their individual needs. I look forward to bringing my knowledge and passion for dermatology to my role as a specialist, contributing alongside the Medizin am Hauptbahnhof team in Vienna to the sustainable health and quality of life of my patients.
